Loch Lomond and the Trossachs is an area of Scotland which is shrouded in beauty, mystery and offers everything you could hope for in a break. The area brings together natural beauty, tourist attractions, retail outlets and some of the most eye-catching and iconic campsites. It is sometimes difficult to remember this area of Scotland is only a hop skip and a jump from Glasgow and Edinburgh, not to mention the delights of Central Scotland with Stirling and its historic features. So, here are five campsites around the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs area for you to consider.
Lomond Woods Holiday Park
The Lomond Woods Holiday Park is situated in the heart of Loch Lomond country and is perfect for a stop off campsite or the mainstay of your holiday. This is an area of Scotland which is exposed to the elements which makes it a perfect spot for campers. This family run park is well maintained, extremely secure and set in some of the most eye-catching surroundings you could hope for. While the weather is always a consideration thankfully these campsite pitches are both secluded with protection from surrounding trees. The ability to bring together the natural beauty of Loch Lomond together with basic facilities such as electricity, hot water, laundry and shower facilities ensures you will enjoy your stay in Scotland.
Cashel Caravan and Camping Site
The Cashel Caravan and Camping Site is situated on the banks of Loch Lomond on the eastern shores of the West Highland Way. It is not difficult to see why this campsite is proving to be extremely popular when you bear in mind not only the views but also the on-site facilities such as electric, shower facilities as well as a shop for all your needs. This particular site is probably best described as quiet and perfect for those wanting a break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The ability to take a break from your working life yet knowing there are helpful staff to hand, adds to the all-round experience. Perfect views, well serviced site and the ability to get away from it all, does it get any better?
Beinglas Farm Campsite
The Beinglas Farm Campsite has received some very good feedback from customers, catering for tent campers and small camper vans. The site itself is situated at Inverarnan, Loch Lomond and while there are perhaps a lack of on-site facilities for children this is more of a hideaway for those looking for a break. There has been some extremely positive feedback about this particular campsite which offers on-site food facilities and a pub for those looking to relax in the evenings. This is by no means a fully commercialised site as it still offers the family type management which goes down best with campers. Helpful staff, beautiful surroundings and on-site facilities will ensure that your stay is both enjoyable and quiet. There may be a lack of on-site facilities for children but there is more than enough to do in the surrounding countryside.
Keltie Bridge Caravan Park
Situated close to the town of Callander in Central Scotland and central to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Keltie Bridge Caravan Park has had some very good feedback. The site itself covers motorhomes, caravans and welcomes campers looking for an extended stay or just passing through the area. There is a mixture of part serviced and fully serviced pitches as well as an array of on-site services such as toilet, shower and laundry facilities. It is difficult to put into words the surrounding beauty of this area and the fact that it is right in the middle of the Trossachs National Park and Loch Lomond region. The ability to cater for all types of visitor from static caravans to campers has certainly added to the benefits of this particular campsite and it is not difficult to see why it has proven to be extremely popular.
Ardlui Holiday Home Park
Set on the “Bonny, Bonny banks of Loch Lomond” the Ardlui Holiday Home Park is an 11 acre site which also offers its own marina. This particular park takes into account all types of visitors from static caravans to campers. The Ardlui Hotel is part of the holiday park offering an array of facilities which many other campsites struggle to offer. You will find yourself literally on the banks of Loch Lomond and while the hotel obviously offers an array of commercial services this park is designed for those looking to go back to nature. The feedback has been particularly good with specific mention of the back to nature element and the commercial facilities available around the hotel and marina
